Ms Nelisiwe Mkhize
Nelisiwe Mkhize MBA, PG Dip Bus Man, BSc, ND Med Tech is a visionary leader with over 20 years’ experience in managing operations in a senior/executive capacity gained in the public healthcare sector. Her passion for strategic leadership and in depth knowledge and understanding of diagnostic laboratory operations is demonstrated by her progressive management and leadership experience initially as an assistant manager, deputy manager, manager in KZN Provincial Laboratory Services (Department of Health) and Regional Executive Manager at NHLS. She briefly served on the board of NHLS in 2006 prior to her appointment in an executive role in 2007. In her previous role as a Deputy Project Manager at Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), she made a significant contribution in advocacy, networking and building strategic relationships with various stakeholders including leadership in KZN Department of Health. She has been recently appointed as a Provincial Coordinator for Laboratory and Blood Services in KZN Department of Health and a board member of NHLS. She is self-driven, results -oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high quality and efficient services. She brings together a unique set of skills and experience including but not limited to planning and implementing business strategy, developing and implementing innovative programs and services, leading and managing change management interventions, building and retaining diverse teams of professionals and creating excellent work environments, governance and oversight.
