The National Health Laboratory Service (NHLS) and its divisions - the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) and the National Institute for Occupational Health (NIOH) - issue publications written by staff who are experts in their fields of work and research.

Annual Report and Reviews

The 2011-2012 annual report of the National Health Laboratory Service showcases the successes achieved by the organisation. Once again, the NHLS achieved a clean audit.

The annual reviews for the NHLS' academic pathology departments at the nine health science faculties, the National Institute for Communicable Diseases and the National Institute for Occupational Health detail their diagnostic, research and teaching functions.

NICD Communique

The Communique gives up to date information on a monthly basis about communicable diseases in southern Africa.

NICD Surveillance Bulletin

The Surveillance Bulletin is published quarterly and supplies in depth information on communicable diseases.
